What is checked

Pure-tone audiometry for the left and right ear
Hearing thresholds across frequencies, compared with previous results when available
Interpretation and advice by medical staff
Hearing protection advice and follow-up recommendations suited to your work

Preparation and documents

Avoid loud noise for at least 14 hours before testing, as standard practice, to prevent temporary threshold shift affecting the result
Clean your ears gently; do not dig or put oils deep into the ear canal before the test
Tell our staff about fluid in the ear, ear infection, hearing aids or ear surgery

Timing and results

Testing takes about 15-30 minutes with initial results on the day. A formal report for your employer can be prepared as requested at registration.
