The test combines chemical dipstick testing and microscopy: pH, specific gravity, protein, glucose, ketones, nitrite, red cells, white cells and sediment, which together indicate how the kidneys and urinary tract are working.

How do I collect the sample correctly?
Clean the area first, pass a small amount of urine, then collect the midstream portion in the container provided and hand it to our staff promptly.
Does it have to be the first urine of the day?
Not for general screening. For some purposes our staff may ask for a first-morning sample, so please check before collecting.
How should I prepare for Urine Analysis?
No fasting required. A midstream sample delivered within 1-2 hours gives the most accurate result.
How long do results take?
About 30 min, depending on the laboratory workload that day. Our staff will confirm the collection time when you are served.
